Difference from the Original Show
The anime adaptation of “The Powerpuff Girls” features some notable differences from the original American animated series. In the anime, Professor Utonium has a wife, a son named Ken, and a pet robot dog named “Poochi”, and while he is not the Girls’ legal guardian, he serves as a father figure to them. The three main characters, Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles, are ordinary teenagers who can transform into superheroes when needed, and they are not biologically related to each other. Blossom and Buttercup live with their parents and siblings, while Bubbles is an only child who resides with her grandmother. Each of the girls has her own unique signature weapon.
